Abstract—This paper presents bifurcation and chaos in a PWM currentmode H-bridge inverter. This inverter exhibits various interesting bifurcation phenomena. First, we briefly explain the behavior of a PWM currentmode H-bridge inverter from viewpoints of the switched dynamical system. In order to analyze the circuit dynamics we derive a return map exactly. Using this map, the stability of the periodic orbit can be analyzed simply by the symbolic sequence. Then we classify these orbits in oneand twodimensional bifurcation diagrams. Keywords—PWM current-mode H-bridge inverter, return map, bifurcation, border collision, chaos
